1972 Mercedes Benz 250C 2-Door Coupe

We work with you to come up with the very best solutions for your challenges!

My name is Michael Palton, I have owned 3 Antique Mercedes-Benz' since I was 25. I am now 71 & due to the malpractice of the VA Hosp / Doctor System I have been rendered permanently disabled and cannot feel my feet and therefore have no actual balance & wear a wrist band saying: FALL RISK; as result I am forced to put my 3rd good old guy up For Sale; I hate to do it, but, my nieces are all over me to stop trying to deal with any car anymore.

I've fallen 4-5 times over the past 8 years & it is just not wise to keep risking falling down. I have an Official Handicapped Placard issued by IL. Over the past 8 years I have enjoyed my MB coupe; my previous 2 MBs were a '59 220S//4 years & a '71 280S//15 years; I drove my '59 to CA back in the '70s when Playboy sent me there to sell all of their Gift Products throughout SoCA/AZ & NV; I drove my '71 around Lake Michigan back in 2001 from WS around to So MI...

At this point in time I am willing to let go of my '72; for the past 8 years I have driven it almost daily & was my only car; before I always had 1 or 2 regular cars for business/meetings, etc. This car runs great [in the past 8 years I have driven a total of about 26,000 miles] & I have done all of the proper restore/re-building of the: Eng/Head/Carbs/Master Cylinder/rear brakes are completely new (maybe 8k on them); front brakes also have 8k on them, may need a new f/r caliper when time for new pads/new muffler (3-4 years old)/oil & filter changed every 3k miles/Radiator has been completely secured (soldered/Brass) plus I have an extra one that is also completely secured (they last forever)/brand new Continental Tires/have had a variety of minor repairs as needed.

I have complete/valid receipts for all of the repairs/work; they total approximately $15,000. It is fun to drive & it runs wonderfully; everyone loves it & stop me many times when I ride around Chicago.

The interior of this car is MB Tech/Vinyl; it is in perfect condition; the driver's seat might need a little added cushion, but everything else is darn near perfect; The glass/metal trim are perfect; the body is about 75% perfect [see photos]...

I've taken it up to 80; usually only go 70 on the Interstate; around town/Chicago I have become a Right-laner on the Expressways/Lake Shore Drive; [DON'T GET OLD!!!] I would be afraid to be caught with a flat tire on any of our Expressways, especially in the winter...

THIS WOULD BE A GREAT CAR FOR SOMEONE THAT WANTS TO RUN AROUND TOWN, I WOULDN'T TAKE A LONG ROAD TRIP ONLY BECAUSE IT IS HARD TO FIND A WAY TO FIX SOMETHING ANYWHERE ALONG THE WAY; young Mechanics just don't understand an Antique MB.

It starts in the dead of winter, no problem; therein lies the problem; ice/snow doesn't work for me anymore & walking with a cane doesn't help.
